God is Good.
I have two rings on my hands. One says, “Nobody can hurt me without my permission” (Gandhi). The other is engraved with “The Lord’s Prayer”.
In the darkest of hours, when I don’t have the strength or the words to speak, I run my fingers over the carved words and I pray.
But I don’t just pray, I own the words. That is true belief, not just the generic recital of words but the ownership of what you are saying.
My Father, which is in heaven, holy be Your name.
Your Kingdom come.
Your will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven.
Give me this day my daily bread.
Forgive me my sins, as I forgive those that sin against me.
Lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever.
Amen.
God is good.
