Fruits of our labor

The other day someone asked me what I do for a living. I told him I’m unemployed… but that’s really not true now that I think about it.

In the morning I rise when Josh begins to stir. Some days I drive him to school, others I get up and begin studying.

Currently I’m studying Ethics, but I’m also researching advocacy programs in the area, trying to finish our 501c3 for Corey’s Network, Inc., and meeting with leaders in our area as time permits.

In between, Justin needs to get to and from classes, and Josh needs to be picked up and dropped off to various appointments as well.

I don’t have much time for me. I think I’m busier now than I was when I had a job!!

But somewhere along the way yesterday, I managed to hear my phone ring. It was someone reaching out for Corey’s Network, Inc.! Someone needed what we offer!

I could hear the panic in their voice. The familiar pain and confusion I felt just months ago. “Where do we go, what do we do? How do we start?”

It’s what we’d been preparing for. The questions began to flow. I was able to access my data quickly and give the caller the information he needed.

And at THAT moment, I realized: This is real.

Corey’s Network, Inc. is REAL. It’s not just a whim. It’s not some dream or fly-by-night gimmick.

We don’t even have funding yet, and we have people that NEED us. And even without funding WE ARE READY!!

Do you know how AMAZING that is??

To take a seed born from the WORST nightmare that could ever EVER happen to you in your life…
To plant it in the fertile ground of hope…
Entrust it to some of the best gardeners you’ve ever known…
Tend to it daily…
Water it with your tears…
And to watch it grow until it bares fruit?

Then to finally taste the fruit and know…

This is good.
