Bio – Stephanie Hamilton

Stephanie Hamilton brings extensive, varied experience as a mental health practitioner, criminal justice professional, and yoga instructor.  With a passion for community service, she has been actively involved in various initiatives aimed at supporting successful re-entry to the community from incarceration, medication assisted treatment for those experiencing opioid addiction, community engagement, and bringing yoga to underserved populations within the metro area.

Stephanie has previously held leadership roles within the Federal Bureau of Prisons, where she successfully connected persons recently released from incarceration with community mental health and addiction treatment resources as well as guiding and authoring policies regarding the First Steps Act, medication assisted treatment, community treatment services, volunteer services, and restorative justice.  Her commitment to fostering collaboration and driving impactful change is evident in her work and advocacy.

As a board member, Stephanie aims to leverage her skills in yoga instruction and community mental health to help guide Corey’s Network toward its mission and holding space for those touched by the tragedy of homicide in the Kansas City metro area. Outside of her board responsibilities, Stephanie enjoys cooking, playing Uno with her family (and winning), daily personal yoga and meditation practices,  ALL the dogs she can pet,  and reading completely frivolous fiction.
